Wednesday we watched a very scary movie (to me) callled "Prom Night". which was a very nice movie but the suckish thing about it was that when i was about to go to sleep i started to think about it and became very paranoid that a man was going to come out of no where and cut my neck and something else out. Today was a very slow calm hot day. We sold books and made $10.25 and about 60% of that was really donations, I guess we are really good saleswoman.

I am reading a book called Bone. Bone is a very interesting book about the early life of a Chinese woman. Her two sisters,her father and her are always getting teased by the rest of their neighborhood. In Chinese culture it is better to have more boys than a lot of girls. I just started, but this book seems intriguing.

I am reading a book called Dear Mr.Henshaw for my summer reading program and for the library program.This book is about a boy named Leigh and he has to do a project for school.The project in the story is that he has to write a letter to his favorite author which is Mr.Henshaw,and write questions about the author.The author has to answer the questions and return them for his class and teacher to see.But the author he chooses puts silly answers and Leigh and his author get in a little arguement.They work it out and the author writes good and proper answers.

Arthur,s teacher,Mr Ratburn gave Arthur a writing assignment. Arthur wrote his story and took it to school to show his friend. Buster wrote a story about outer space and elephants. Arhtur wrote another story because he thought his was no good. He read to another friend. He went to the library to do research from his story. When Arthur was getting ready for school his dad ask for the corn, and that gave Arthur an idea for his story. Arthur made his story into a song and dance, when he told it to teh class they didn't seem to like it. He told them abot his original story and they liked that better.

I liked this book. It was fun.

I think summer reading is a great way to encourage other kids to read. For me reading is a hobby. Not to brag but I am almost on level three. The last book I just read was the brink of exstintion. It talked about a man who smelled bad and wanted to transform animals to skunks. He got the animals from masaiiland in Nairobi, Kenya where I was born . But luckily just in time a kid named otto was there to help along with a masaii and his relative. That is the last book I read and what I think about the summer reading program.

Summer Reading Making Waves at your Library!

Our 2010 Summer Reading Kickoff was Tuesday June 15th . We had a fabulous Storyteller Mr. Malcolm and he was so good at engaging the kids in storytelling through active participation. Afterwards, we had ice cream sundaes for the kids. Our inspiring new ASL, Alyson Silverman and dedicated TLA's Jordan Brooks and Wesley Gilbert did a terrific job at keeping everything under control.

Hey i am a tla at Wadsworth Branch Library and today starts the second week of Summer Reading. Today at 1:30 was Game Board Day and we had 3 local camps come in. With our dedicated staff we kept everything well organized. We played scrabble slam, monopoly, pictureka, hangman and many more. I had a blast with the children. Im looking forward to tomorrow with the watching movie based on a book. Wadsworth is the best !

A lot of Wadsworth kids and teens, (and adults!), love checking out the library's great collection of graphic novels and comics.
Well, when you're in between print books, or just feel like looking at something different, did you know you can read lots of awesome comics on the internet?
Some have great artwork, some are more serious, some are simply made by attaching hilarious captions to clip art. ALL are absolutely free and can be browsed in the library or at home, in front of your computer. Without good vision, our ability to read, see, and learn about the world becomes difficult. Many vision problems begin when we are young, so it's very important to take good care of your eyes now. Untreated eye problems can get worse and lead to other serious problems as well as affect learning ability, personality, and success in school.

Some tips for maintaining healthy vision:

Have a regular eye exam to make sure that your eyes are healthy and that you have the correct eyeglass or contact lens prescription (if necessary).
When working at the computer or reading for a long time:
- Rest your eyes
- Remember to blink!
- Use eye drops if your eyes feel dry

Meet me, Noah. I'm seven years old. I enjoyed summer reading. My favorite prize was the Donkin Donuts coupon. I had fun at the Finale. I liked the free water ice and I met friends, a girl. I love Ms. Rebecca. I wish we did play-doh with summer reading. My toys are Thomas the Tank Engine and I have my football practice at Elon Stars at 6 pm and 8 am. Last year Khalita won the American Girl Doll Kit Kitteridge in our fun filled Family program promoting the Kit Kitteridge Movie and doll which was raffled off and Khalita won. This year, her youngest sister Belicia won our first Pre-Reader Raffle and went home with two new books!

I went to the mall this week. It was fun. I ate a pretzel and a hot dog. And I went to the Game Stop and played new game. I also went swimming. I'm a really good swimmer. I am reading this book called Airhead by Meg Cabot. This book is about a girl called Emerson Watts who was your average high school girl until she brought her sister to a SoHo Enterprise (a modeling industry) grand openning. Her sister was tryin to get the autograph of a famous model called Nikki Howard, the some people who were called protestors because they believed that Nikki Howard shouldn't be famous and that she was influencing the teen mind too much. One of the protestors shot some paint balls at a flat screen tv that was exactly above the head of Emerson's sister (trying to get her book signed) and Nikki Howard was about to fall. Not thinking she ran over and pushed her sister out of the way and the tv hit her instead. Her body got sqashed but her brain was still working and Nikki Howard heart was still working but her brain wasn't so her modeling company payed two million dollars to have Emerson Watts brain installed in Nikki Howards body. Now Emerson has to take Nikki's place she doesn't want to but if she doesn't the two million dollar that SoHo payed to have the brain transplant, her parents will have to pay SoHo back for it. She Knows her parents can't pay it unless the file for bankruptcy so she agrees with them and takes Nikki's place. But she's beggining to see that modeling isn't all it's cracked up to be.

This week I turned 9. On Tuesday I played a game called Boggle. You had to shake the box of letters and form words. I liked it. Today on Friday I made a quilt pot holder. It's made of fabrics of different patterns. You use needle and thread. It is really fun. I just finished a book called ''Princess Chloe and the Primrose Petticoats.'' It was a great book.

What I'm writing about is on a quilt I'm making. Quilts have been around for along time. Any body can make a quilt. In fact I heard that quilting started in America. You can make a quilt with alot of items.(any color fabric,sizzors,a ruler,and string. Ever sence I been making this quilt I been thingwho started making quiltsand how many years has it been in the U.S.A..

I entered a raffle at the library and won a book about colors that included a CD. I also made a doll at a program it was a beutiful doll and i had a great time!!!!!
